NYU Tisch School of the Arts
NYU Tisch School of the Arts is New York University’s arts school in New York City. Within the Faultlines series, Tisch is where James Pennington and Charlotte Hargreaves began their undergraduate theatrical training together in fall 2025.
Curriculum and Programs
Tisch’s undergraduate drama program combines professional studio training with theatre studies, general education, and electives. Acting and directing pathways allowed James and Charlotte to pursue related theatrical disciplines while developing distinct practices within the same institution.

James Pennington
James attended Tisch to study acting and directing. The combination matched his interest in both emotional performance and the larger structure of dramatic storytelling.
Charlotte Hargreaves
Charlotte attended Tisch for acting, bringing together the textual analysis she learned from her father and the embodied theatrical practice she learned from her mother. Attending alongside James made the move from Maryland to New York a shared transition.
